Cedar American Rail Names New CTO
Cedar American Rail Holdings, Inc., which operates the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad (DM&E) and the Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad (IC&E), announced that Clyde Mittleider has been promoted to chief transportation officer, effective August 16, at the company's headquarters in Sioux Falls, S.D. He succeeds Richard D. Awe, who retired. John Gabel has been promoted to the newly created position of assistant vice president Customer Service and Equipment Management, effective August 1. Also located in Sioux Falls, Mr. Gabel's new post includes responsibility for a fleet of more than 9,000 freight cars, car orders, distribution and leasing.
