Intermountain SD40-2 passes through Livingstone
Author: jimbobjnr

I recently took delivery of one of a new Intermountain N Scale SD40-2 locomotives and gave it a run on my layout, Livingstone, CA lashed up with an Atlas Dash 8-40C to lead a mixed manifest train.  The engine is well packaged and a lot of thought has gone into the speaker enclosure.  All-in-all, I am very pleased.

Great video and layout.

I too am a N Scaler and use Unitrack and have since 2000 (working on layout #3 with it).   Also a UP modeler so it's great to see it in action.

ADDED > does that unit have the ditch lights?  Could not tell from the video.

Did you have to do any DCC speed matching to get it to run with the Atlas since two different manufactures and no sound on the Atlas?  (Thanks again)

Apologies for my tardiness in responding.  In response to your enquiries:
1) Does it have ditch lights - Yes, indeed it does but they need to be turned on using F6 on the throttle
2) Did I have to speed match the locomotives - Yes, I did, the SD 40-2 had to be slowed down a little and the acceleration adjusted to match the Altas C40-8
