On Wed, March 13, I had the opportunity to view the progress of contruction on the SunRail station at Deland, FL.  While there, I lensed Amtrak's Silver Service/Palmetto (NYC to Miami) P091 which arrived about 10 minutes late.  As the train approached, a loud air horn was sounded and all work ceased while the train was in the station.  The colorful "Operation Lifesaver" unit led a dirty "Charger" unit.

The pictures focus on the platform construction, but a significant parking lot expansion is in the works as well.  The late summer 2024 opening of this SunRail station will extend the service north 12.2 miles from the current Debary, FL terminus...
