L&N Heritage Unit - CSXT 1850
Author: scraphauler

CSXT 1850 lead G797-16 down from Ohio with a train load of corn for the chicken feed operations in Candor NC.  As per normal practice, ACWR dispatched a set of light engines out of Candor to Aberdeen to act as a manned helper set to get the heavy grain train up the hill out of Aberdeen and across the roller-coaster profile to Candor.   First shot, we see L&N 1850 setting in Aberdeen as the helpers units tie onto the rear.  Next we see the 1850 passing through my back yard on their way to Candor.  Lastly we see the manned helpers bringing up the markers.

Is the L&N grey on this locomotive the same as the grey on CSX?

Might get your wish.  ACWR took empty train back to Aberdeen yesterday afternoon.  CSX threw a local grain symbol on it (G920) and ran it to Hamlet yesterday evening.  4810 and 1850 where spit up - 4810 stayed with grain train and is headed north to Michigan via Rocky Mount, Richmond, Ressell KY as G770  1850 is in Hamlet and reportedly will go out on M582 to Nashville..     M581/582 and M652/653 often change power when they make their Hamlet stop.   (Yes, the horn salute is aimed at me - happens camera running or not.  Wife thinks its absolutely ridiculous - sure neighbors agree.  I think its Hilarious!)

It came your way but you probably slept through it.  M500-24 has it.  Just north of Terre Haute right now headed to the Windy City
