Eastern Railroad Discussion > While out for lunch- 65T with a nice pairDate: 09/17/16 11:49 While out for lunch- 65T with a nice pair Author: nkp746 Once in a GREAT while I get lucky. While out on a parts/lunch run today I was able to keep tabs on the 65T and I snuck over to Bolivar, PA to catch the train. Seen here at 12:50pm. This likely means I will now miss every interesting thing for the rest of the year...although I now see the Monongahela is on the way on the 20Q. Hmm...wonder if the rain will stay away long enough...

I take into consideration that perhaps one of the front units was having problems, but, if they weren't [didn't sound like it], why would you need rear helpers in that situation? Date: 09/18/16 04:02 Re: While out for lunch- 65T with a nice pair Author: jmbreitigan Nice work Rob.
John Date: 09/18/16 05:22 Re: While out for lunch- 65T with a nice pair Author: nkp746 I am no expert, and someone with actual operational experience may chime in, but I have noticed that often the helpers stay on all the way to Pittsburgh, as opposed to being removed at Cresson. I have also seen on several occasions eastbounds at CP Pack with helpers already on- my video of the 20Q shows that. So I assume the helpers run with their WB train to Pittsburgh and then hop on an EB and help it back to Altoona.
