I'm no expert and forgive me for asking a stupid question but I noticed in the video that the ethanol train had no rear buffer.  Is this not required?  By the way, a very good video.

You only need a rear buffer if there is a DPU locomotive on the rear.

A buffer car is only required between cars and locomotive (even empty cars).  When they first ran these on CSX they would put a buffer car on both ends so it was there for the return trip, now they use one and switch it at the plant.

Where/when would that amount of munitions be going?

Outstanding videocamera work... thanks for posting a pro-style video! Am a retired wedding videographer so I know good vid-cam handling when I see it.
