Caught 611 running north toward Roanoke today. Gave up the chase at Hurt once they made a left off the Southern Main to the old Virginian.

1 shot Rudd, NC, just north of Greensboro at first light.

2 shot just north of Reidsville, NC, under the old Southern signal bridge being replaced.

3 Whittle VA after meeting 213

At Hurt making a left turn down the connection track and one more for good measure as it drifts downgrade.

Video at Rudd, NC.  Lots of grade crossings and smoke in the cool morning air.

It would be nice if every car matched.

Are you volunteering to pay for the paint and the labor to repaint the non-matching cars?

Besides, some of us like a rainbow train where most of the passenger cars are painted the colors appropriate to the car's heritage.

Depends on where you were today. I noted more people at Brown' Summit today then when we passed it yesterday. Hurt had less people as well as CP Swann at Pelham, the station at Chatham was also less occupied.

Love that video.  Ex-Southern main line, 611 handling a 20-car train on its own, good light.  Love this.  Thanks for posting it.

On the video try hitting the pause button just as 611 is moving across the screen.
