Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX Black Hornets Take FlightDate: 09/03/15 09:19 CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: lefflerlad I caught CSX X311-02 heading north on the CSX Scottslawn Secondary in Arnold, OH this morning with 6 of the black SD40s that CSX received from NS. Thank you to Ohiorailfan, PowellWye, and NS_8101_Kyle for their updates this morning.

Date: 09/03/15 15:48 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: JGFuller NS should take note. The Black CSX scheme looks better than the Black NS scheme. I think it's because there are no 'cat whiskers' on the nose, and the handling of the logo on the long hood is better. IMHO.

CSX has the worst power, worst logo and by far the worst paint sheme(s) of any of the Class 1 RRs Posted from Android Date: 09/03/15 21:53 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: JGFuller Not even In Your Humble Opinion, eh?

Date: 09/04/15 05:22 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: bridgeportsub Is that the 1st 6 black SD40-2's that left of the 2nd 6 black SD40-2's that left? All 12 are now heading west to Idaho.
GRS Date: 09/04/15 05:29 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: lefflerlad It is the last 6 of 12. The first 6 came north overnight last week.
Date: 09/04/15 08:04 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: boxcar1954 Interesting point. I have been away from the market awhile, are SD40-2's so hard to come by that a straight 40 was a viable option, what with its additional years of use? Were these upgraded to -2 by NS in the past?
I am personally glad to see so much of what the class one's are doing to refurbish good second gen units. Glad to see them running for many more years of good service. Date: 09/04/15 09:23 Re: CSX Black Hornets Take Flight Author: Appalachianrails bridgeportsub Wrote:
