One of my Favorite shots of UP 6936!...just cant beat that Echo of the Horns off the canyon walls!..Especially near the end of this video clip!

Standard UP Leslie S3 horn from that time period. Replaced in the 1990s by the Airchime K3.

I was wrong previously in that this is not likely an Engineering special as it did not have the theater car on the rear end which was so typical of Wimers inspection trips.

I've heard Leslie 5-chime horns echoling off trees and mountains on Donner Pass on UP engines, and I always thought this engine had a "sick, ill" 5-chime, but I guess not.  The Leslie 5-chimes, when in good working order, sound great.

I have always thought that "sick/ill" sound of 6936's horn made it kind of unique to this unit. Wonder if it was customized somehow to sound that way just for 6936?
