Thanks for posting this reminder.  My wife and I went several years ago and I had a blast!  We rode a speeder, rode on the now-gone Live Steam track, rode a diesel excursion, looked over the gas engine display, and ate lunch in the dining car.  The highlight was my turn at the throttle of their 0-4-0 wood burning Porter!  She claimed that the fireman always reached for the log she was sitting on! 
On our way home we passed the then-new Gold Line running through Pasadena, etc.  However, when I proposed yet another train ride on the day, her eyes rolled back, and she began shuddering and making small whimpering sounds....
