Steam & Excursion > NKP 767 on the CVSRDate: 09/18/16 10:40 NKP 767 on the CVSR Author: Goalieman My brother and I traveled to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad on Saturday to see NKP 767 (aka NKP 765) and managed to catch her passing the Canal Visitor Center Station. I must say - I LOVE THAT MARS LIGHT!! I hope you enjoy despite some focusing issues.

a really beautiful whistle! She looks GREAT! (I, too, like the Mars light.) And -- almost NO smoke! Great job, to whoever got the coal she burned then, AND to the fireman! GREAT job!! The boys at the FWRHS do do a great job firing the locomotive. They're so good in fact, it can make chasing a little challenging as the "follow the smoke - find the locomotive" rule doesn't always apply. Thank God for the gps! If this video is of the second trip of the day that would be me that was firing the locomotive. Steve Winicker the Chief Mechanical Officer was firing in the morning. I had more or less self taught myself to fire and was fined turning by Gary Bensman on the art of firing a nkp berk. I learned a lot from Steve Winicker also. In the early 1990's when I was a teenager and on the crew, I got the privilege from Tom Stevens to get a cab ride on almost every weekend that we ran the 765, especially in 1993. Every chance I got I would sit behind Steve or one of the other 765 firemen and just sit there and watch and soak it all in. Posted from Android Edited 1 time(s).
