Nickel Plate 765 Climbs the Grade
Author: PennRailVideos

NKP 765 climbs out of the Wyoming Valley on August 23rd, 2015 in Pittston, PA. This is near the Oak St. crossing. She lost her feet a few times, but regains with avengance, and digs into the old Lehigh Valley grade to Penobscot.

Stay tuned for the rest of the video on my Youtube channel in the coming weeks.

Very good stack talk and I appreciate the delayed whistling.

Awesome video! I wonder why she was slipping; the weather and rail appeared to be dry. Thanks for posting.

Sometimes they just happen, but more than likely they were caused by flange greasers.

Correct on the flange greasers being the cause of slipping. We have quite a few of them and the problem was exaserbated by the fact that MOW has them turned up way to high. Even our freight trains have an issue with them!

Nicely done.    I like where you set up in that the whistling was done after the train passed you so that you could hear her working better.

In riding, I noted that there was minimal gratuitus whistling.   They didn't whistle at every little crowd or group of people.   Some engineers tend to overdo that.  Nice work in the cab.   Great job recovering from the slip and moving on.

Excellentt train handling.
No doubt she was making plenty of steam.
