Steam & Excursion > DRGW narrow gauge July 1960Date: 08/27/15 18:02 DRGW narrow gauge July 1960 Author: gbmott OK, this is the last clip for the time being. There is a bit more on the DVD but it is going to take more work to put it together. The first caption is wrong, 489 and 484 are actually eastbound, not westbound, but I can't figure out how to change the caption and I am too lazy to start over. The still photos are of trains included in the video, 489/484 seen at Oxford and 486 just west of Chama. I could post more b&w stills from this trip, but I suspect that folks have reached their saturation point with photos from this period.

The consists are interesting- a real mix of pipe, oil, and lumber along with all the box cars. A Super 8 History Lesson. SR Date: 08/27/15 19:35 Re: DRGW narrow gauge July 1960 Author: tomstp Very enjoyable both the still pictures and the video. Post more please.

That video is easily worth the past several years of TrainOrder subscriptions. Thank you, very much. This was dual gauge trackage.

As long as there were 3 coupler adapter cars front and rear. Date: 08/29/15 16:26 Re: DRGW narrow gauge July 1960 Author: wabash2800 Yes, I noticed a small covered hopper. Thanks for sharing. It was big time steam railroading even in 1960.
