Grinding through Graf
Author: pyroman

Last Wednesday night I heard the unique horn of a Loram rail grinder approaching La Crosse so bit of debate for a midnight outing (ok so it was only 23:30) I figured what the heck and jumped in my truck for a quick night chase.  Being he was not moving too fast I managed a video as he approached Graf a short distance from home.  I wanted a shot of him going through Graf but the camera focus got cranky and would not focus lock for a bit.  Finally I got a long pass at Cass Street, not bad for a quick grab “chase”.  For those interested this is my regular Canon 70D (Canon HV30 had a dead battery) being handheld. Hopefully I can get around to shooting and editing more videos later this year including the vast archive of the CP Holiday Train from WI and MN.

Nice night video of the rail grinder at work. Are the sides of the rail grinded also?
