Here's a few of today's westbound local through Azusa.  Was hoping for a warbonnet leader and was suprised to get two in Santa Fe lettering, with old favorite visitor 120 leading 158.  Looks like new PTC antenna arrays atop the cabs of both units.  No caboose today, since maybe they left it at Pomona as OYW mentioned yesterday.  First pic was with my Fuji digicam, and I decided to use the iPhone pics for the other 2 - since my Fuji caught the face of the BNSF employee stepping off the 120 to flag the crossing.

This is my first time shooting there in a few months and LA Metro has employed crossing guards at each GC in town with the trains stopping to flag each one as well.  I guess this will continue until the new gate system (which includes the parallel Gold Line mains) are certified as safe.  Also included is an iPhone video of the train getting moving after stopping in the crossing.

You'll have to pardon my droll over the 120.  That was the last GP60M I caught on the
point in, of all places, Savanna, IL.  It remains my favorite GP60m and I much appreciate
these nice photos.

hey  Rich was it just me or was the 120 not running  I noticed in your shot the mess on the conductor side almost looks like oil I hope not I hope this unit is not going to be rebuilt or it might not make it back in red & silver  lets hope.

The GP60Ms sure look good in Warbonnet colors. Wish we could see them here in Oregon....

Actually, as soon as the track machines are done with movements on the frt side, we will run the local at track speed to get proper warning times and the protect orders will be lifted. It doesn't make sense to release the protect orders and put them back on every day.

Just out of curiosity, is the BNSF the only RR to serve Miller in Irwindale ?

The UP's Azusa industral spur seems to have access but is it used ?

Like I said, Just Curious !!!

I remember when the PE/ATSF diamond was in service.  The crossing was at Kincaid
on the old Second District.

BTW, great stuff from my old stomping grounds !

Yup, only BNSF serves the suds shop

Amazing how well the paint is still holding up on these locos. Hard to beat the look of a GP60M in Warbonnet!
