Western Railroad Discussion > A Couple of BNSF Meets at TopockDate: 05/18/15 14:30 A Couple of BNSF Meets at Topock Author: zchcsse Back on National Train Day, I made it out for a couple of hours and spent some time on the CA side of BNSF's crossing of the Colorado River at Topock, AZ along the Seligman Subdivsion. While there, an eastbound Z train met a westbound manifest on the bridge (the westbound having a Ferromex in the consist). About 15min. later, virtually the exact same event played out for a second time. Both meets are shown in this clip. It was a bit breezy that afternoon which negatively affected some of the zoom shots.

Thanks for sharing, ~Ryan Date: 05/20/15 03:23 Re: A Couple of BNSF Meets at Topock Author: rschonfelder I recall sitting at this location in 1982 but on the other side of the tracks from this photography spot. I didn't know anything about the lacation and was on my post graduation railfan trip. I planted a lawn chair there and waited for three hours until a train came. it looks like things have changed as far as frequency of trains. This bridge is also seen in the opening scenes of the movie "Easy Rider".

Nathan Date: 05/20/15 16:39 Re: A Couple of BNSF Meets at Topock Author: Seventyfive I really enjoyed your excellent video; thanks for showing here. Haven't been to Needles in 20 years now and am wondering, what is the factory-like building in the brief scene at the 4 minute mark? Will look forward to more of your vids.
