Zinc train 0681 here in town (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Today morning I found MRS train O681 with gondolas of zinc and empties for pig iron passing through my town. I recorded videos and pics at Km 622 and Km 627. Here they are.

1) C44EMi 3813 leading the train at Km 622;

2) The zinc belongs to Nexa group;

3) The train entering EVP yard at Km 627.

5) C26-7EMi is a rebuilt U23C;

6) The train entering EVP by track 2.

Nice video Pedro on the Zinc train. Like the last two older locomotives.

Hi Pedro, are the coverings on the zinc loads mandated by some authority?

AZSP,
We have some laws about enviroment protection from cargos like that, so the companies use to take care to not expose the communities to toxic cargos. The concetrate of zinc is a very thin powder that can not be wet, so the canvas protect it from the rain and also protect from the wind, what could cause toxic powder along the way. But thieves use to steal those canvas and it is common to find some cars without the them..
